Windy

It’s been a stressful week on the farm with the multiple high-wind incidents we’ve experienced over the past few days. This morning, I was about to start working when a series of intense wind gusts rolled in. Row cover was blown off, bins were blown around, tree limbs fell, and I could see the entire hoop house shifting. It was scary to say the least. We’re keeping our fingers crossed that we make it through today damage-free, that the hoop house stays intact, and that the big pine tree that fell in one of last week’s winds and is leaning against another tree continues doing that and doesn’t fall the rest of the way.

On a happier note, last week’s deliveries in both Burke and Jefferson County went well for us and we hope the same is true for everyone who ordered! This week’s harvest list is below and we look forward to delivering to you this weekend! Link to the full online store from our website.

This weather is not helping already stressful times. We have had some equally large gusts.
The produce looks beautiful & we’re very excited about the Hakurei turnips. I’m also glad to
see the baby bokchoi. Its always been a challenge to me to learn how to cook it correctly
but I’m determined to figure it out. Stay safe when you’re out in the fields.

And we here in South Florida are experiencing our dry season – hot hot and dry (humid for y’all in the northern part of the South LOL) Hoping for that ferocious low pressure system to move on through without any further damage or scares to Red Hawk Rise. Fingers crossed and positive energy to all.
